Shape Fidelity scans the ARES 1 Upper Stage Common Bulkhead
SFI provided 3D scanning and photogrammetry services to verify the manufacturing processes for the ARES 1common bulkhead. Analysis was performed to analyze the machining, aligning and bonding of forward and aft domes in order to meet fit-up requirements between the core and forward dome.
SFI’s analysis revealed tooling deformations due to handling and oven heat cycling during the manufacturing process.
